What Happens If I Need Changes Mid-Project?

14 days kickoff → live $3K–$15K+ scope-tiered WCAG 2.1 AA baseline

The short answer

Changes within the existing scope use the 2-revision-round budget per stage. Changes that expand scope (new pages, new features) are deferred to post-launch via Care Plan hours. The locked-scope discipline is non-negotiable and is what keeps the 14-day timeline real.

№ 01The longer answer

Scope is locked at end of Day 3 with your signature. From that point forward: revisions to the agreed scope are included (2 rounds per stage); changes that expand or alter scope are NOT included. This is the single most important discipline that lets us ship in 14 days.

Why we hard-line this: every mid-project scope change cascades. Adding ‘one more page’ on Day 9 reopens design (because the page needs to match the design system you signed off on at Day 7), reopens copy (because someone has to write the new page), and reopens QA (because the new page needs accessibility + SEO + performance checks). ‘One small addition’ becomes 3-5 days of work.

What we do instead: log the requested change as a post-launch Care Plan item. Ship the agreed scope on Day 14. Then handle the addition in week 1 of Care Plan engagement at $150/hour. Total cost to you: typically $300-$800 for a ‘one more page’ that would have blown the timeline if added mid-project.

The ‘urgent change’ exception: if your business has an actual emergency mid-build (new regulation, major customer announcement, competitor launch), we adjust. But the bar is genuine emergency, not ‘I had an idea last night.’

№ 02Has anyone ever gotten a scope change mid-project?

Yes, rarely. Three times in 200+ builds. Two for legal compliance reasons (new disclosure requirements). One for a major rebranding announcement that hit during build. All three blew the timeline by 5-7 days; all three were transparent about the consequence.

№ 03What if I want to remove scope mid-project?

Same answer: locked. The reason: we may have already started work on those sections. Reducing scope mid-project doesn’t speed up the project meaningfully and complicates pricing.

№ 04Can I add scope between sprints?

No. Between Sprint 1 and Sprint 2 is the lock-confirmation point, not a new scope window. Scope changes go to post-launch.
