How Do You Handle Revisions on Design?
The short answer
Two revision rounds per design stage, presented at Day 7 (post-design demo) and Day 11 (post-build demo). Feedback captured in Figma comments + a written summary doc. We acknowledge feedback in 1 business day and turn revisions in 2-3 days.
№ 01The longer answer
Design revisions happen at two scheduled moments: end of Sprint 1 (Day 7, design demo on Figma) and mid-Sprint 2 (Day 11, build demo on staging). Each demo is followed by a revision window of 24-48 hours during which you submit feedback. We turn revisions in 2-3 days.
Feedback format: written summary doc + inline Figma comments. The doc is the source of truth — it covers the strategic feedback (‘the hero feels too quiet’). The comments are tactical (‘this button copy should say X’). We respond to both with: what’s in scope to change in this round, what would be a structural change requiring more discussion, and what’s already optimized for conversion based on our testing.
What’s revisable: copy, color usage within the brand palette, hierarchy and spacing, individual section layouts, imagery selection, CTA placement, form fields. What requires structural discussion (not just a revision): brand-level changes (palette overhaul), IA changes (sitemap restructure), template overhaul (changing the design language).
What we push back on: feedback like ‘I just don’t like it’ without specifics. We’ll ask follow-up questions to extract what specifically isn’t working. Vague taste feedback isn’t actionable; specific feedback is.
№ 02What if my whole team has different feedback?
Consolidate into one feedback doc with the final version. Internal disagreement isn’t our problem to mediate — designate one decision-maker who synthesizes team input into one direction.
№ 03Can I request a video walkthrough of the design?
Yes. We send a Loom walkthrough at every demo by default. You can request additional ones during revision rounds if helpful.
№ 04What if I want a major direction change after the design demo?
Honest conversation. Sometimes the right answer is acknowledging we got it wrong and resetting (this rarely happens but does occur). More commonly, the feedback is partial — some elements work, some don’t. We negotiate what’s revisable in-round vs. what’s a Sprint 2 build adjustment.
