The short answer

Yes. Squarespace-to-WordPress migration costs $5,000-$8,000 for Standard tier and ships in 14 days. Squarespace exports XML more usefully than Wix, so content extraction is faster (1.5-2 days vs 2-3 for Wix). Best migration choice when you need plugins, programmatic SEO, or 30+ pages.

Squarespace is fine until you outgrow it. The signals: you need plugins (advanced forms, CRM integrations, custom calculators), you’re approaching 30+ pages, you need programmatic content (location pages, comparison pages), or your page load is suffering. Below those thresholds, stay on Squarespace.

The Squarespace XML export gives us a real starting point. It preserves headings, paragraphs, lists, image references. It does NOT preserve: layout (gallery configurations, code blocks, summary blocks), platform-specific blocks (forms, audio embeds, scheduled events), or schema markup. The layout-dependent pages get manually rebuilt; the rest imports from XML.

Performance and conversion lift post-migration: organic traffic typically jumps +18% to +35% by week 8, form conversion rate jumps +20% to +40%. The conversion lift is bigger because Squarespace’s native forms convert poorly compared to custom multi-step forms with conditional logic.

Don’t migrate if: you’re under 25 pages, you don’t need plugins, your internal team is non-technical, your annual website budget is under $1,500. Under those conditions, the $5-$8K migration doesn’t pay back.

Not exactly — we use the migration as a redesign opportunity. The new design can echo your Squarespace aesthetic if you want, but the constraints Squarespace imposed are part of what limited the site. Use the migration to redesign, not just re-platform.

Squarespace-to-WooCommerce migration is a separate engagement. Ecommerce migrations are $8K-$15K and 21 days standard, with product import + payment gateway reconfiguration.

№ 04Can I keep my Squarespace email?

Squarespace Email (the platform’s email tool) doesn’t migrate. We recommend Mailchimp or ConvertKit on the new WordPress site. The subscriber list exports via CSV cleanly.
