Answer · Custom Web Design
What’s Figma and Do I Need Access?
The short answer
Figma is the design tool we use to create your site’s design before building it in WordPress. You get read-only access during the project so you can view designs, leave comments, and download assets. Edit access is available on request after launch.
№ 01The longer answer
Figma is browser-based design software (think Google Docs for visual design). We design every page, every component, every variant in Figma before writing any WordPress code. The Figma file is the single source of truth for what the site should look like.
Your access: read-only viewer link sent at project start. You can view every page design in real-time as we work, leave inline comments on specific elements, download images / icons / illustrations, and see the design system as we build it.
Why read-only by default: your team isn’t editing designs directly, and accidentally moving an element while reviewing creates confusion. Comments are how you provide feedback; we make the changes.
Post-launch access: read-only is included permanently (so you can reference the design system). Edit access is included with Pro Care Plan ($800/mo) or available as a per-month add-on at $50/mo. Most clients don’t need edit access; they reference the read-only version.
№ 02Do I need to learn Figma?
No. You only need to view designs and leave comments — both are intuitive without training. Figma walkthroughs are part of project kickoff if you’ve never used it.
№ 03Can my team have access?
Yes. We can add up to 10 viewers per project at no charge. Beyond that, Figma’s per-seat licensing kicks in.
№ 04What if I want to see the design system after the project?
Read-only Figma access is permanent. You can also export the system to a PDF or Google Doc for offline reference; we include this in launch handoff.
