Do You Recommend Rank Math or Yoast?

The short answer

Rank Math by default in 2026. Cleaner UI, more schema types in free, faster admin, more features in the free tier. Yoast is fine too — if you’re already on it and it’s working, no need to switch. For new builds, we install Rank Math 9 times out of 10.

The functional gap between Rank Math and Yoast has narrowed in 2024-2025. Both ship solid sitemaps, schema markup, meta title/description management, breadcrumbs, and Search Console integration. The differences are at the margins.

Where Rank Math wins: schema types in free tier (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, HowTo all in free; Yoast puts most of these behind Premium), 404 monitor and redirect manager (free vs Yoast Premium), faster page-load impact (lighter admin), cleaner UI in the editor sidebar.

Where Yoast wins: more established (around since 2008 vs Rank Math’s 2018), larger pool of third-party integrations, more mature readability analysis, more conservative defaults (less risk of overzealous schema or noindex flags).

For most mid-market B2B: Rank Math gives you more in the free tier and the Pro pricing is $20/yr cheaper. The setup wizard is also faster. We install Rank Math on roughly 90% of new builds. Yoast on the 10% where the client is already on it and we don’t need to migrate.

No — only ever one SEO plugin active at a time. Two SEO plugins generate duplicate meta tags and break sitemaps.

№ 03Will switching plugins hurt my SEO?

Properly executed migration (Rank Math’s import tool from Yoast, or vice versa): no measurable impact. Sloppy migration where redirects, focus keywords, or sitemap settings get lost: temporary ranking dip while Google re-crawls.

All-in-One SEO is the legitimate third option but doesn’t lead on any dimension. Rank Math and Yoast both beat it on UI, features, and active development.
